With strong in-house research and development, engineering, manufacturing, and project execution capabilities, Ming Yang supports customers across onshore wind, offshore wind, floating wind, and broader clean energy applications.

As Ming Yang continues to expand its presence in Canada, we are seeking an experienced Sales Manager / Director to support market entry, customer development, commercial strategy, and long-term growth across the Canadian renewable energy sector.

Position Summary

The Sales Manager / Director will lead business development and sales activities for Ming Yang Smart Energy in Canada, with a focus on wind power projects, utility and developer relationships, market intelligence, commercial negotiations, and cross-functional coordination. This role will work closely with senior leadership, engineering, legal, finance, supply chain, and global teams to support Ming Yang’s growth in the Canadian market.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the local sales team to achieve annual and quarterly strategic sales targets; develop and execute market entry and expansion strategies across Canada.
  • Collaborate closely with management team to implement global sales initiatives, optimize processes, and drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Develop new customer segments and strengthen long-term relationships with key clients in the Canadian wind power market.
  • Conduct market intelligence activities, including customer demand analysis, competitor benchmarking, and industry trend monitoring, to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Support strategic decision‑making by analyzing regional energy policies, utility procurement mechanisms, and developer requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with independent power producers, utilities, developers, EPC contractors, regulators, consultants, Indigenous partners, and other key stakeholders in the renewable energy ecosystem.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end sales operations in Canada, including contract negotiation, commercial terms, documentation, delivery coordination, and payment collection.
  • Support the preparation of commercial proposals, tender submissions, pricing strategies, contract structures, and customer presentations.
  • Identify and manage commercial, contractual, payment, delivery, and project execution risks throughout the sales cycle.
  • Partner with R&D, engineering, finance, legal, and supply chain teams to support product certification, technical solutions, localisation needs, and financing structures.
  • Work closely with internal technical teams to align turbine technology with project‑specific customer needs.
  • Drive cross‑functional initiatives to enhance brand presence and support long‑term market penetration in Canada.
  • Stay updated on Canadian import/export regulations, renewable energy policies, provincial permitting requirements, interconnection requirements, procurement programmes, and industry standards.
  • Proactively identify and manage regulatory, contractual, and operational risks in overseas sales activities.
  • Support compliance with applicable Canadian market requirements, including product certification, grid‑code compliance, environmental considerations, health and safety expectations, and local stakeholder requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or a related field;
    Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in renewable energy, power, or related industries, including sales leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian wind energy market and renewable energy project development.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, key account management, and commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic, results‑oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
  • Fluent in English, with strong presentation and reporting skills.
