Lyons Heritage Masonry
Heritage Masonry Advisor / Sales Representative
Location: Toronto, ON -- field-based sales position with regular travel to client and project sites throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Are you a superstar?Expertise First. Sales Follow.
Lyons Heritage Masonry is a specialist heritage masonry studio working with discerning homeowners and the architects and builders who serve them. We combine heritage craft, technical knowledge, and architectural judgment to understand what should be preserved, what should be restored, and what can be reimagined. Our sales approach reflects the same standards as our field work:
Authenticity, Accountability, Love for the Work, and Continued Service. We earn trust by giving clients a clear understanding of their home and the work it actually requires--not by applying pressure to make a sale.
Lyons approaches sales the same way it approaches masonry: understand the conditions first, recommend the right solution, and do what you say you will do. Through the developing Heritage Masonry Advisor platform, clients are encouraged to understand their property, their options, and realistic project costs before making a decision. This role is for someone who prefers earning trust through expertise over pushing for a close.
You will represent work with genuine technical depth, develop relationships that can last for years, and help clients make informed decisions about homes that may already have stood for more than a century.
We are looking for a Heritage Masonry Advisor / Sales Representative who can build relationships, diagnose client needs, and develop profitable masonry projects through expertise rather than traditional sales tactics.
This is a consultative sales position. Your role begins with understanding the property, the client's concerns, and the underlying masonry problem. You will help homeowners, builders, and architects understand their options, provide clear and realistic guidance, and recommend a scope that is technically appropriate for the building.
Lyons does not want a salesperson who pushes every lead toward the largest possible contract. We want someone who builds credibility through knowledge, transparency, and good judgment. The right person should be comfortable educating a client before asking them to make a decision.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct consultative conversations with homeowners, architects, builders, and other prospective clients.
- Review client concerns and help identify the nature and likely cause of heritage masonry problems.
- Explain masonry conditions, repair options, scope considerations, materials, and project variables in clear, plainspoken language.
- Educate clients so they can make an informed decision without high-pressure sales tactics.
- Conduct site consultations and project assessments.
- Develop accurate project scopes in collaboration with estimating and operations.
- Prepare and present proposals that clearly explain what Lyons recommends and why.
- Generate new opportunities through referrals, networking, strategic partnerships, direct outreach, and other business-development activity.
- Develop relationships with heritage architects, custom builders, designers, and other referral partners.
- Follow up consistently with qualified opportunities without using pressure-based closing techniques.
- Protect required gross margins and avoid discounting or under scoping projects simply to win work.
- Ensure the project sold accurately reflects what Operations will ultimately deliver.
- Maintain complete and current CRM records.
- Provide weekly KPI reporting covering:
- outbound outreach activity;
- new leads generated;
- consultations or assessments completed;
- proposals written;
- proposal value;
- sales closed;
- closed revenue and/or gross profit;
- conversion rates;
- pipeline value and next actions;
- Use sales and pipeline data to identify where follow-up or business-development activity needs to improve.
- Help further develop Lyons' Heritage Masonry Advisor approach and educational sales process.
- 3-5+ years of consultative, technical, construction, home-improvement, architectural, or related sales experience.
- Demonstrated success selling high-value services or projects.
- Construction, masonry, restoration, architecture, custom residential, or building-envelope knowledge strongly preferred.
- Strong curiosity about buildings, materials, construction methods, and the causes behind visible problems.
- Ability and willingness to develop meaningful masonry and heritage-restoration knowledge.
- Proven ability to generate your own opportunities through networking, referrals, and outbound business development.
- Comfortable discussing technical information with clients without overstating your expertise.
- Strong listening and diagnostic questioning skills.
- Able to explain complex information clearly and simply.
- Experience preparing proposals and managing a structured pipeline.
- Comfortable being accountable to weekly sales and business-development KPIs.
- Strong CRM…
