Sales Manager- Mandarin​/English

Global steel trading company with 20 offices throughout the US, Canada and Mexico is seeking a Mandarin speaking Sales Manager in the Toronto, Ont office.

The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations, building and nurturing customer relationships, and driving profit growth through strategic sales efforts, particularly in the sales of electrical steel and carbon steel. This role involves sourcing competitive materials, supervising sales support, and collaborating with management to exceed financial goals. Professional use of Mandarin a big plus.

This role involves overseeing sales operations, building and nurturing customer relationships, and driving profit growth through strategic sales efforts, particularly in the sales of electrical steel and carbon steel.

• Market various products, including electrical steel and carbon steel, to customers and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Motivate and guide staff to source and market competitive materials, with a focus on electrical steel and carbon steel.
• Supervise daily sales/client support activities, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Manage purchasing, sales, and customer service functions, with an emphasis on electrical steel and carbon steel, to maximize sales and profitability.
• Collaborate with branch/division management to develop and execute sales strategies, with a special focus on electrical steel and carbon steel.
• Monitor sales activity and perform financial analysis.
• Resolve distribution and logistics issues, ensuring compliance with regulations, especially for electrical steel and carbon steel.
• Investigate and address customer complaints related to the quality of electrical steel and carbon steel products.
• Review and approve payment vouchers and invoices to customers for electrical steel and carbon steel sales.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree and 10-13 years of relevant steel sales experience.

• Strong business acumen, including economics, management, accounting, and marketing.
• Proficiency in steel product knowledge, metal markets, and sourcing.
• Experience selling electrical steel is considered an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and customers.
• Leadership skills for effective team collaboration.
• Fluency in English;
• Professional working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is an asset.
• Capability to mentor and develop proactive sales methods.

• Experience selling electrical steel is considered an asset.
