Make a difference in water safety as an Environmental Toxicology Technologist with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks in Etobicoke, Ontario. This role emphasizes analytical support in testing and monitoring aquatic environments.
As a vital member of the Laboratory Services Branch, you will engage in a variety of laboratory activities, from conducting toxicity tests to data management. Your knowledge of aquatic biology and relevant environmental regulations will enhance the integrity of aquatic ecosystems. The position may involve both lab work and field sample collection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform toxicity testing and data reporting in the lab
• Oversee quality management within analytical processes
• Conduct fieldwork for sample collection as needed
• Ensure optimal conditions for aquatic cultures
• Assist in environmental emergency and monitoring projects
Requirements:
• Valid class G driver's licence or equivalent
• Familiarity with aquatic biology and environmental testing
• Practical experience in culturing aquatic organisms
• Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation
• Strong communication and analytical abilities
