About the OpportunityReporting to the Director of Geology, the position of Senior Corporate Geologist is responsible for working on multiple projects, ranging from development and operation projects. This position will collaborate with the corporate Technical Team to support individual sites primarily with geological modelling, resources modelling, reconciliation, and reporting. Extensive site deployment may occur. This is a fixed‑term position for a period of 18 months.
The Senior Corporate Geologist will assist the exploration group, site mine geology team, the corporate technical team, and as required site geological teams in assessing, evaluating, and modelling the geology and specifically the mineral inventories of various deposits and report key findings to stakeholders in written and oral formats. As part of these activities, the Senior Corporate Geologist will assure the integrity and quality of input data (drilling, sampling, survey, etc.)
to ensure that any decisions the company may make on the produced products have a sound and defendable basis. A key component of the role is to act as a liaison between field exploration personnel and the corporate team and to provide guidance where required in the fields of health and safety, geological field activities, geological and mineral resource modelling, and reporting.
The Senior Corporate Geologist is expected to provide short‑term support to site and field teams as part of those teams when personnel shortages occur.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide geological, structural, and resource estimation support for the company’s projects and operations.
- Maintain technical reports for the company’s projects and operations and sign off on select sections.
- Interpret exploration results and provide recommendations to advance projects to the company leadership.
- Act as liaison between mining/exploration site personnel and corporate staff.
- Provide guidance on geological topics to site personnel.
- Implement and oversee QA/QC protocols to ensure the highest quality of data.
- Provide regular reports on activities and findings.
- Ensure projects are delivered within budget and completed in a timely and safe manner.
- Support site mine geology short‑term modelling and grade control practices.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geological Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in resource estimation, mineral exploration, consulting and/or mining, ideally with experience in epithermal and porphyry deposits.
- High proficiency in geological modelling, preferably using Leapfrog software.
- High proficiency in resource estimation, including production and long‑term models.
- Sound understanding of structural concepts.
- Good communication skills, especially written communications.
- Experience with the compilation of Technical Reports.
- Proficiency with database software, preferably acquire.
- Experience in resource estimation is considered an asset.
- Some proficiency in Spanish and/or Turkish is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice and for extended times as required.
