Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform assigned tasks and responsibilities efficiently and effectively under the direction of the Project ForepersonRead and interpret blueprint drawings, shop drawings, and spec’s requirements for assigned projectsAnalyze and interpret construction and schematic drawings, technical documentation, and equipment specificationsAbility to adhere and uphold the safety protocols and measures put in place by Modern Niagara to ensure the safety of all employeesPerform additional related duties as required under the direction of the Project ForepersonMentor and train apprenticesMust haves:
Previous experience across the installation of sheet metal across either commercial, industrial, institutional, or healthcare projectsRed Seal trade qualification required.Excellent communication skills, both written and oralExcellent attention to detail, print reading, coupled with a strong understanding of schematic and isometric drawingsAble to work at heights with all necessary safety training completedSafety conscience individual who respects and adheres to all safety measures whilst on siteStrong work ethic with impressive mechanical problem solving/troubleshooting skillsHardworking individual with a strong desire to learn and grow within their positionAbility to work on own initiative but also within a team. Capable of mentoring and aiding the development of junior apprenticesPositive and professional attitudeNice to haves:
Previous Sheet Metal experience in ICI or large scale projectsLocal 30 membership, or member in good standingPay Rate for this unionized position is $
