Fire Alarm Technician - Schools Division

Join the team as a Fire Alarm Technician at CUPE Local 4400. Utilize your skills in testing and repairing systems across local schools.

This temporary position is set for one year, primarily offering day shifts from 7 am to 4 pm. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be responsible for compliance with applicable building and fire codes. The role includes the maintenance and inspection of fire alarm systems along with minor repairs and accurate record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and inspect fire/security alarm systems regularly

• Conduct minor repairs on public address systems

• Ensure adherence to building and fire safety codes

• Maintain tools and equipment for optimal use

• Record maintenance logs and inspection reports

Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience

• CFFA Registered Fire Alarm Technician status

• Valid “G” driver’s license and good driving record

• Ability to understand technical schematics

• Familiarity with emergency lighting and extinguishing systems
