Role Details
Pay: $40.25 USD – $45.25 USD per hour (licensed trades: 433A, 442A, 309A). Health, vision, and dental benefits available from day one. Company‑paid benefits. RRSP matching available from day one. $1,000 tool allowance for first year, $300 each year thereafter.
Position SummaryAs a Licensed Maintenance Technician, you will maintain operational performance by ensuring compliance with maintenance programs and scheduling both reactive and preventative work orders for technical and non‑technical components.
Primary Responsibilities- Demonstrate and uphold Riverside Natural Foods’ Core Values.
- Understand and lead compliance with both Health & Safety and Food Safety practices.
- Attend breakdown calls, troubleshoot, and independently resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Escalate recurring problems to the supervisor and work to eliminate them.
- Perform minor repairs, equipment set‑up, change‑over, overhaul, and fabrication as needed.
- Execute preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment including food mixers, slab‑forming machines, horizontal wrappers, robotic pick‑and‑place systems, case packers, tunnel ovens, and conveyors.
- Provide technical assistance and advice in preventive maintenance optimization efforts.
- Assist outside contractors and ensure GMP policies are adhered to.
- Document work performed, record data for analysis, log spare parts consumed, and maintain a clean work area.
- Participate in cross‑functional continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and safety in all aspects of the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Millwright Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, or Electrician.
- Certified NOC 7311 or Red Seal Millwright or Provincial Electrician ticket (433A, 442A, 309D).
- Experience with vertical and horizontal wrappers, robotic pick‑and‑place systems, and tunnel ovens is an asset.
- Knowledge of PLC, robotics, HMIs, and Allen Bradley controls is preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Hands‑on experience with the following is preferred:
- Power transmission systems
- Electric and electronic controls
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Welding, brazing, and soldering
- Servo and electric motors
- Lubrication types and systems
- Proven machining skills using lathes, milling machines, and drill press.
- Rigging and hoisting experience is an asset.
- Flexibility to work in the afternoons, weekends, and evenings as required.
