Autobody Repair Technician

Position Summary:

CSN Collision is looking for an Auto Body Technician to join our team. The Auto Body Technician is responsible for taking a damaged vehicle and repairing or restoring it to its original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and capable of multitasking to accommodate shifting priorities.

Primary Objectives of the Auto Body (Collision Repair) Technician:

• Review damage reports and repair estimates, plan the necessary work
• Thoroughly examine collision damage, including exterior body parts, power accessories, and warning lights
• Perform structural and complete body repairs: Repair and replace front-end components, body parts, doors, frame, and underbody components
• Straighten bent frames using specialized equipment, hammer out dents and defects
• Weld on vehicles using MIG welders and spot welders
• Disassemble damaged vehicle areas to identify hidden damages early in the repair process
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces
• Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting, apply primers, and repaint
• Fill holes, dents, and seams using soldering equipment or plastic fillers
• Restore vehicles to factory/OEM specifications
• Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles for proper handling
• Read and understand repair estimates and procedures
• Work with various metals, plastics, glass, electrical, and mechanical parts
• Use frame and measuring equipment, disassemble and reassemble vehicles
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Auto Body Repair and refinishing experience - 3+ years required
• Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License (preferred) or in a registered apprenticeship program
• Certifications such as I-Car and OEM are favorable
• Experience with welding, lifting, and working with various tools
• Valid driver's license required
• Own tools and safety footwear required
• Up-to-date compliance training (AODA, WHMIS, etc.) and knowledge of information security (PIPEDA)
• 3 to 5 years of working knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex
