Facilities Maintenance Technician III
The Facilities Maintenance Technician
III is responsible for performing maintenance and repair, routine and on‑demand services on client‑owned mechanical and other supporting systems, performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance.
The Technician is responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform work in accordance with established processes and practices at client facility
- Comply with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection
- Perform regular facility component monitoring and inspection
- Provide observations about facility component conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancements and repair
- Monitor assigned facility by conducting facility walk‑throughs
- Respond to urgent, routine and on‑demand service requests
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on client‑owned facility components, including but not limited to mechanical and electrical equipment
- Ensure work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements
- Assist client in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program
- Ensure that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained
- Participate in and assist with facility‑related projects
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements
- Maintain all assigned tools and arrange for repair and replacement where required
- Assist in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered
- Liaise with landlord, building operations and client service providers
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum 3 years facility operations and maintenance work experience
- High school diploma plus some trades‑related training
- Ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non‑technical facility components
- Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair
- Ability to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying on‑the‑job fire, life, safety and building codes and standards
- Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset
- Ability to perform work in a safe manner
- Strong client‑service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
- Demonstrates an interest in enrolling and completing a trades certification or license, or beginning to work towards a trades certification or license
- Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements
- Valid driver’s license and explicit driver’s abstract
- Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on‑call/standby and emergency call‑outs as they arise
- Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment
This is a regular, full‑time position with a salary range of $28.30 – $33.29 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
