We are looking for a Mechanic to join our team at the Repair Shop.
The successful candidate will be required to:- Diagnose, repair, and replace engine components, transmissions, powertrains, differentials, and exhaust systems across a variety of equipment, including but not limited to:
- Small engines (string trimmer, 20” mower, water pumps, sod roller, sod cutter, chainsaws)
- Landscaping equipment (54” gas zero turn mower, 72” diesel zero turn mower, six-wheel gas utility vehicle, 4-wheel diesel utility vehicle, battery powered golf carts)
- Light trucks (F-250 super duty pick-up gas, F-350 super duty flatbed truck gas, F-550 forestry truck diesel, Ford Transit van)
- Heavy Equipment (New Holland B-95 backhoe diesel, 40hp Loader Tractor diesel, Bobcat-Toolcat utility vehicle diesel)
- Vehicles (Cadillac Deville, Cadillac XT‑5, Chrysler 300, Chrysler Valkyrie, Dodge Caravan, Ford Transit Van, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Frontier, Nissan Leaf electric, Smart Car)
- Use computerized diagnostic tools to analyze and troubleshoot engine control modules (ECMs), emissions systems, and electronic fault codes.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance, including fluid changes, tire rotations, brake servicing, and suspension checks to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct vehicle annual safety inspections and certifications.
- Repair and replace engine components, transmissions, powertrains, differentials, and exhaust systems.
- Fabricate, rebuild and modify parts using welding techniques, including oxyacetylene, and arc welding, to repair or reinforce equipment as needed.
- Ensure repairs and servicing of equipment are performed promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring availability for continuous operations.
- Electrical Systems: Diagnose and repair complex wiring issues, alternators, battery systems, and computerized control modules.
- Hydraulic Systems: Perform pressure testing, troubleshoot hydraulic failures, and repair cylinders, pumps, and hoses.
- Powertrain & Drivetrain: Service gasoline and diesel engines, automatic and manual transmissions, differentials, and axle components.
- Suspension & Brakes: Repair and replace shock absorbers, springs, steering components, and brake systems (disc, drum, and hydraulic systems).
- Collaborate with the Inventory & Service Coordinator to:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with ordering replacement parts and managing inventory for tools, spare components, and consumables.
