The Prospect

Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors, machinery, with the use of manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, etc. The hourly wage rate for this position: $34.96

• Focus on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and good troubleshooting techniques.
• Prepare maintenance reports and make recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops.
• Repair and replace pumps, valves, motors, etc., as needed.
• Perform quality checks on all work performed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety, housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain documentation as required by Atlantic Packaging.
• Utilize documentation in CMMS.
• Install new machines and equipment.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned.
• Inform production workers of routine mechanical preventive maintenance plans.

• Must have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433A.
• Red Seal Journeyman certification.
• Minimum 2–3 year previous experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting.
• All position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.).
