Interior Tarping Installer

Barriers is currently looking for an Interior Tarping Installer to join our team in the GTA

At Barriers, our team uses various types of poly sheeting to create containment solutions to help protect people and property from debris generating activities. We typically show up before roofing or other construction begins to "tarp" the underside of the roof or build poly walls. These barriers allow establishments to continue operating while debris falls from the ceiling or gets knocked airborne by power tools.

You will be expected to install poly sheeting or "tarps" using a combination of ladders and lift equipment with the ultimate goal of helping to contain messes and protect sensitive areas.

Our specialty is overhead protection for reroofing projects, where we install protection under the ceiling. These systems help catch debris and roof leaks that penetrate through the roof. We also create sealed barriers from wall to wall to isolate working areas from clean areas.

This position is a temporary position with opportunities for full time employment.

Shift: Varies project to project. Current assignment we are looking for is Monday to Friday, 7pm to 4am.

In this position, you will be responsible for general duties involving:

• Installing tarping in interior spaces to protect assets and property from debris generated during construction.
• Perform take down/clean-up of protective barriers involving dust, dirt, and any moisture contained within the tarp barriers.
• Other tasks include standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.
• Candidate must be willing to travel to various construction sites.
• Candidate must be willing to lift, push, and carry the materials required for the job (Must be able to comfortably lift at least 40lbs).
• Candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced construction services environment
• Candidates must be willing and able to stand while working for 8 hours per day on hard elevating platforms or continuously go up and down ladders, possibly in hot environments.
• Candidates must be willing to work at heights on elevating platforms and comfortable at heights up to and exceeding 6 meters or 20 feet from the ground.
• Practices safe work habits and adheres to the safety procedures and guidelines.

• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to the jobsites for work.
• Must be comfortable working at heights and on elevated platforms.
• Must have your own steel-toed boots.
• Must be comfortable working at heights exceeding 20ft
• Experience with scissor lifts or boom lifts preferred.
• Prior experience with interior protection/tarping is not required.
