TTC has 10 bus garages across Toronto. Successful candidates will be placed at any garage based on vacancies and assigned a specific shift and off days. The work week is 40 hours.
What You Will Do- Maintain safety, reliability, and performance of a diverse fleet of passenger vehicles, including diesel, gasoline, and hybrid powered coaches.
- Perform inspections, dynometer operation, engine work, and varied complex tasks on revenue and non‑revenue vehicles, service vehicles, and related equipment.
- Conduct tests, diagnosis, repair, overhaul, parts replacements and adjustments on all vehicle systems: power train, fuel, cooling, electrical, door, air conditioning, and control equipment.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and road service calls.
- Treat passengers and employees with respect and dignity, ensuring needs of persons with disabilities are accommodated per the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Skills and Qualifications Do You Have?
- Valid Province of Ontario Truck & Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification (310‑T) license or Red Seal license.
- Completed Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
- Valid, non‑probationary Province of Ontario Class “G” driver’s license in good standing; ability to upgrade to a “CZ” license.
- Successful completion of mandatory training and testing: direct current fundamentals, automotive circuits, air conditioning and CFC certification, multiplex wiring, electronic transmission and engine controls, passenger accessibility equipment.
- Must provide a set of hand tools as per TTC tool list.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders.
