Position Overview
A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small‑scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director, Event Technology.
Key Job Responsibilities- Ensure flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
- Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
- Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
- Meet with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and that the equipment setup is working properly.
- Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
- Understand and foster the hotel or client relationship.
- Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve with equipment and software issues.
- Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow all venue safety requirements and supplier protocols.
- Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Use equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for setup and strike.
- Interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.
- Increase revenue by utilizing floor up‑selling techniques.
- Work with clients to finalize invoices.
- Complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
- Load, unload, or store gear and equipment as needed.
- Prepare, label, and scan equipment as needed.
- High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
- Achieve Technical Level 3 Certification per Encore Technical Skillset Matrix within 180 days.
- One year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- One year of audio‑visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- A valid driver's license required for team members who may operate company vehicles.
- Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

$19.00 - $24.53.
Compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, work experience, and specific skills and may include overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
Work EnvironmentHotel:
Work performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, dust, variable noise, and electrical equipment. Teams may work under lights, ladders, and in multiple hotel locations, including irregular hours and on‑call status.
Warehouse:
Work performed at event venues and warehouses with exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, dust, variable noise, and high‑end audio‑visual equipment. Teams may have irregular hours and on‑call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
