The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background with experience working on electrical and hydraulic components, including the ability to read schematics. Hourly rate ranges from $32 to $48 per hour depending on skill and experience, with potential overtime and a $1,500 sign‑on bonus. Job openings exist across the U.S. and Canada. Job type: full time, with potential overtime.
Responsibilities- Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
- Utilize technical support resources (operator manuals, parts catalogs, How Factory, etc.) to troubleshoot, determine procedures, and identify required parts for repair.
- Perform Unit Condition Inspections and generate reports.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
- Execute all tasks in compliance with Altec Safety practices and procedures.
- Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships.
- Provide accurate information on all required documentation.
- Demonstrate Altec Company Values in daily performance.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, provincially‑approved equivalent, or GED.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to move objects and tools up to 75 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- High level of dexterity.
- Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
- Drive motor vehicles; ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to support customer by working overtime.
- Advocate safety in all activities.
- Previous mechanic and/or equipment service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, construction, mining, farm equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers or tractors, aircraft and aerospace or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE), or similar equipment.
- Education in mechanics, electrical or hydraulic systems.
