Become a Field Heavy Equipment Technician with Valard Construction, focusing on the Waasigan Transmission Line project near Thunder Bay, Ontario. Your mechanical expertise will be essential for keeping construction equipment running smoothly.
This field-based position requires a seasoned technician to ensure that all heavy equipment is maintained and repaired. You’ll report to the Fleet Supervisor while working on diagnosing various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. By performing preventative maintenance, you’ll help keep equipment reliable and field crews productive throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and repair diggers, cranes, and stringing equipment
• Troubleshoot issues both in the field and the shop
• Utilize diagnostic software to identify equipment problems
• Keep accurate service records for maintenance performed
• Collaborate with field and fleet management efficiently
Requirements:
• Valid Journeyman or 4th Year Apprentice certificate
• Hands-on experience with wire stringing equipment
• Expertise in Jal Test software
• Class G driver’s license with good record
• Ability to lift 50 lbs in outdoor settings
