Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Mechanic to join our automotive service team. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses basic mechanical skills, and has a strong work ethic. This paid apprenticeship provides opportunities to develop technical expertise under the guidance of experienced mechanics, with a focus on customer service and quality workmanship.

Duties
  • Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing and repairing vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Follow schematics and technical manuals to understand vehicle systems and repair procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
  • Support the assembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Learn to interpret diagnostic codes and utilize diagnostic equipment effectively
  • Assist with heavy lifting of parts or equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and answering basic questions
Skills
  • Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in automotive repair
  • Experience or familiarity with dealership environments is a plus
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
  • Strong understanding of schematics and technical diagrams
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and automotive systems
  • Good problem‑solving skills with attention to detail

This apprenticeship position is designed for individuals committed to developing their mechanical expertise within a professional setting. Candidates should be prepared for physical work involving heavy lifting and long periods of standing. Prior experience in automotive repair or dealership environments is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.

Looking for someone who can lift a car, can do simple oil change, rotate tire, repair a tire, clean up the workshop and throw garbage. Working hours are from 9am-5.30pm Mon-Friday. Job can start this coming Monday. This job is only temporary until Oct 12 because my guy went on a 3 months vacation. Must have basic knowledge about cars. Will get paid based on experience.
