We are currently hiring for a Fuel Technician to join our Central Canada Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Fuel Technician will be responsible for maintaining store operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing gasoline and related equipment systems; environmental monitoring systems; and performing preventive maintenance on equipment.
What You’ll Do- Maintain fueling equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and performing preventive maintenance on gasoline-related equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including dispenser calibration.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure continuity among work teams.
- Participate in training for existing and new equipment.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Increase professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing financial and key result area targets in line with company guidelines.
- Ensure preventive repairs are performed cost‑effectively by examining records and reports of operating practices.
- Spend the majority of time in the field.
- May require some travel, including overnight stays.
- High School diploma or GED; preferred; other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- 3–5 years’ experience in the maintenance field or more preferred.
- Skilled with hand and power tools and measurement instruments.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to use hand/electric cart and power tools.
- Can work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple changing priorities.
- Can work independently in a high‑priority, confidential, demanding business environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable as a driver.
- English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Computer literate in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Sit up to 10 hours; kneel, crouch, crawl, climb.
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Operate computer keyboard and mouse for data entry.
- View computer monitor.
- Hear and speak via telephone.
- Reach forward and/or overhead.
- Occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
- Use manual dexterity to operate equipment.
- Work in confined spaces.
- May require crouching or crawling.
- Able to use a ladder.
- High noise levels and mixed lighting; noise is usually moderate to normal.
- Lighting includes natural light from outside and fluorescent lighting throughout work areas.
- Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
