Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is seeking a temporary full-time Art Services Technician. Your responsibilities will include installing and dismantling artworks, preparing exhibition spaces, and assisting with lighting setups. You will also transport artworks and help maintain gallery spaces, ensuring all installations are conducted safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and dismantle artworks in gallery spaces
• Prepare exhibition spaces including minor repairs
• Transport artworks to various gallery locations
• Assist with gallery lighting installations and maintenance
• Document art movements and conditions accurately
Requirements:
• 1 to 2 years of experience in art handling
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of installation methods and devices
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Ability to troubleshoot audio-visual equipment
