Work Schedule

Day Shift: Monday – Friday; 6:30 am – 3:00 pm (40hrs per week)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $50. This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and team performance, subject to eligibility criteria.

The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings.

Join Our Team as a Senior Industrial Millwright!

Are you passionate about supporting the production? Sr. Industrial Millwright supports the production by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, making repairs and optimizing systems for industrial machinery and mechanical equipment while following safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose difficult equipment failures and provide solutions to correctly diagnose all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling & exhaust problems and expedite their repairs, minimizing interruption to production.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled, including lubricating, cleaning, and other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions. Systematically investigate irregularities and recommend maintenance when required. Perform spot repairs on production and facility equipment with minimal to no supervision, ensuring issues are fully resolved.
  • Install and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand tools, power tools, and lifting devices.
  • Perform specialized Millwright tasks, including welding, cutting, rigging, machining, lifting, pipe fitting, and plumbing tasks in accordance with provincial legislation.
  • Partner with the Production Operations team to effectively elevate system issues, ensuring questions and needs are addressed in the pursuit of excellent customer service.
  • Fabricate replacement parts and make repairs to existing parts using lathes, grinders, and other fabrication equipment with minimal to no supervision, with a target of zero call-back.
  • Research troubleshooting procedures, installation, and equipment improvement using equipment manuals, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation using a CMMS system.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
  • Assist other tradespersons, including plumbers, electricians, HVAC, and others, in troubleshooting and repairing specialized systems.
  • Train, coach, and mentor the other mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and legislation, including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28, (1) (a)-(d), (2) (a)-(c)).
What you’ll Need To Succeed
  • Valid Millwright Certification of Qualification (C of Q)433A
  • Minimum 4-5 years of post-licensure experience in an industrial maintenance environment as a licensed Millwright
