Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Network Technician role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The Network Technician will install, terminate, test, and maintain copper and fiber optic cabling in commercial and industrial environments, following EIA/TIA standards and company procedures. Responsibilities include assisting with network infrastructure design and layout, supporting audio-video, surveillance, and access control system deployments, and performing wireless RF surveys as required.

The role involves troubleshooting cabling and connectivity issues, documenting installations, and maintaining accurate records of network components and configurations. The Network Technician will collaborate with project managers and other technicians, adhere to safety guidelines, and provide professional on-site support to clients.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in network infrastructure deployment, including copper and fiber optic cabling installation, termination, and testing.
  • Candidates should possess skills related to audio-video, surveillance, and access control systems, including basic configuration and integration with network components.
  • Candidates should possess skills in troubleshooting and diagnostics, including identifying connectivity issues, using test equipment, and resolving cabling faults.
  • Candidates should possess skills in documentation and standards compliance, including working with EIA/TIA guidelines, updating network diagrams, and maintaining installation records.
  • Relevant skills such as understanding of LAN/WAN basics, switches, and patch panels; ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; and familiarity with wireless RF surveys are beneficial.
  • Preferred qualifications include prior experience in network cabling or telecommunications, completion of related technical courses or certifications (e.g., fiber optic or cabling certifications), and a valid driver's license for travel within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Successful candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, safety awareness, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a field team.
