- Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving, compact and aerial equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Mentor apprentices and new hires as needed, providing guidance, training and support.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.
- Contribute to a professional and safe work environment by keeping the shop and yard clean, and following all company policies and procedures, and safety requirements.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of mechanical experience working on a variety of construction equipment.
- Valid Class G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
- You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
- Must have own tools.
- Available and willing to work over-time as needed.
- Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
- Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
- Comfortable with computers (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.).
- Physical stamina and ability to stand and bend for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
