Elevate TBM operations as a Conveyor Mechanic with Ontario Transit Group, working underground on the Ontario Line project.
Your role is pivotal in ensuring conveyor systems operate efficiently and safely.
As a Conveyor Belt Mechanic, you will be integral to installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting conveyor systems used in tunnelling. Given the 24/7 operational requirements, your expertise in mechanical maintenance is essential for high-capacity muck transportation and ensuring smooth excavation processes. You will work closely with TBM operators and mechanics in this hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble and maintain conveyor belt structures effectively
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance
• Manage wear and misalignment issues proactively
• Monitor system performance and adjust settings accordingly
• Maintain detailed logs and safety compliance
Requirements:
• Successful completion of an Industrial Mechanic apprenticeship
• 3-4 years of industry experience
• Understanding of OHSA tunnelling safety standards
• Competence with mechanical schematics and hand tools
• Ability to work in confined, dynamic environments
