This role is ideal for a highly skilled tradesperson who excels in precision work, problem-solving, and maintaining tooling to the highest standards.
In this position, you will construct, repair, and maintain a wide range of tools, dies, fixtures, and gauges to extremely close tolerances. Responsibilities include performing complex tool room machining, fitting, timing, and adjusting components, as well as dismantling and rebuilding damaged dies. You’ll verify conformance to specifications, conduct layout inspections, prepare machining sketches, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Safe crane operation and adherence to 5S and workplace safety practices are essential.
The ideal candidate holds a recognized Tool & Die Maker trade certificate or brings a minimum of 10 years of hands‑on experience. Strong blueprint reading, machining proficiency, and the ability to work with both ferrous and non‑ferrous materials are required. Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues independently are key to success.
