As a CBRE Building Operator (Union), you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, building systems, and equipment.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Maintain a clean work environment

Assist other classifications/trades as required

Perform general building maintenance/repairs (e.g., lighting, door repairs. etc.)Pump teardown/minor repairs/alignment

Air balancing

Conduct generator tests

Escalate unusual events/occurrences to supervisor

Work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable codes

Conduct chemical treatment tests

Complete maintenance of metal/plastic pipe systems

Participate in review of operating policies/procedures as required

Monitor work of contractors/external service providers to ensure adherence to company/industry standards

Troubleshoot/repair building automation system

Complete general mechanical/maintenance duties

Maintain/align fan/air handling units Complete belt inspection/replacement

Perform minor repairs: replace washers/faucets; clear sinks, toilets and drains; clear grease traps/sumps; re-pack valves; replace pumps/motors; reset breakers, etc. Complete filter changes

Ensuring maximum energy efficiency, inspect/operate/maintain and repair mechanical/electrical systems and equipment (including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, life safety system, etc.)Start-up/shutdown major building equipment

Complete preventive/demand maintenance tasks; input histories if required

Review and complete daily entries into engineer's log Perform daily rounds and log readings

Respond to tenant requests and emergencies

• OSSGD or equivalent
• BES I Certificate; or 4th class Operating Engineer; or provincial trades certification of qualification is an asset
• Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of facilities
• Proven computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Automation System (BAS)
• Willingness to work in shifts, work on weekends, and be on-call.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
