We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Electrician to join our
Maintenance and Engineering
team.
Employment Status: Full-Time
Hours of Work: Available to work all rotating shifts, though initially shifts will be primarily days (subject to change)
Location: Humber River Health, Church Site - flexible to travel between sites when needed.
Labour Group: NOWU Service
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Maintenance and Engineering
Hourly Rate: $37.924
Position Responsibilities:
- Keeps all operating electrical equipment in safe and proper working condition.
- Maintains the electrical inspection book.
- Recomends the ordering of electrical supplies.
- Tests and repairs any electrical defect.
- Installs and services new electric equipment.
- Installs and repairs the nurse call system.
- Repairs outside lighting and parking lot equipment.
- Installs new services in renovation or building changes.
- Maintain Fire Alarm System
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed Grade 12.
- Extensive Experience in all aspects of institutional electrical equipment maintenance.
- Successful completion of a recognized Ontario Electrician certificate.
- Knowledge of electrical sections or public building and safety codes.
- Ability to communicate with staff.
- Lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls a variety of electrical materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Climb, balances, stoops, kneels and crouches to gain access to electrical wiring.
- Exposed to electrical shocks and burns as well as falls from ladders or scaffolds.
- Excellent attendance and discipline free record required
- An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset. Humber River Health values lived and learned experiences in addressing systemic barriers and advancing inclusive practices.
