- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including recording financial transactions and maintaining general ledgers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist clients with payroll processing and related payroll compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and file sales tax, property tax, and other compliance-related reports as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures.
- Identify accounting issues and work with managers to develop practical solutions.
- Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting systems and automation tools.
- Support audit and tax engagements by preparing schedules and responding to information requests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing timely, high-quality service.
- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, outsourced accounting, or a related field.
- Experience with Quick Books Online or other cloud-based accounting software preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple client engagements, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with payroll processing and expense management systems is a plus.
- CPA license or progress toward obtaining a CPA is a plus.
- Japanese language skills are required.
