Payroll Analyst
We are a stable, growing Southern California company seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to manage full-cycle payroll for our hourly employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This role collaborates with operations and accounting to review time records, allocate labor costs, and support payroll-related reporting.
Compensation$28–$34 per hour, with potential for a performance‑based review after six months and a strong benefits package, including approximately 80% employer‑paid medical coverage, paid time off, and paid sick leave.
Responsibilities- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Review and audit employee time records for completeness and accuracy.
- Enter and maintain payroll data within the payroll system.
- Verify labor allocations, cost codes, and project tracking information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable payroll regulations.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and special projects.
- Partner with accounting and operations teams on payroll‑related matters.
- Support process improvement initiatives within payroll functions.
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Experience managing payroll from start to finish in-house.
- Strong understanding of labor tracking, job costing, or cost code allocation.
- Experience reviewing manual timecards or timekeeping records.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
