Payroll Analyst

We are a stable, growing Southern California company seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to manage full-cycle payroll for our hourly employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. This role collaborates with operations and accounting to review time records, allocate labor costs, and support payroll-related reporting.

$28–$34 per hour, with potential for a performance‑based review after six months and a strong benefits package, including approximately 80% employer‑paid medical coverage, paid time off, and paid sick leave.

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Review and audit employee time records for completeness and accuracy.
• Enter and maintain payroll data within the payroll system.
• Verify labor allocations, cost codes, and project tracking information.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable payroll regulations.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and special projects.
• Partner with accounting and operations teams on payroll‑related matters.
• Support process improvement initiatives within payroll functions.

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience managing payroll from start to finish in-house.
• Strong understanding of labor tracking, job costing, or cost code allocation.
• Experience reviewing manual timecards or timekeeping records.
• Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
