The Logistics Manager plays a critical role in protecting delivery commitments and customer satisfaction by providing strong leadership, systems expertise, and operational discipline to manage product flow from release to shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Logistics team to meet operational, production, and customer delivery objectives in a regulated aerospace environment.
  • Establish logistics KPIs and continuous improvement plans aligned with AS9100, on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost control.
  • Manage domestic and international shipping, receiving, and freight activities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., ITAR/EAR, DFARS, FAA/IATA, DOT, IMDG).
  • Serve as the site owner for export compliance execution, including screening, documentation, commodity classifications, licenses (when required), and coordination with Trade Compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers; negotiate rates, define SLAs, and monitor service and compliance performance.
  • Ensure customer‑specific contract requirements are met, including packaging, labeling, documentation, source inspection, delivery terms (Incoterms), and record retention.
  • Own warehouse operations, layout, and material flow to ensure efficiency, safety, FOD control, ESD compliance, and protection of product integrity.
  • Ensure full material traceability from receipt through shipment, including lot/batch control, shelf‑life material, serialized items, and configuration status.
  • Drive ERP transaction discipline and data integrity (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, shipments) to support audit readiness and real‑time visibility.
  • Create, analyze, and present logistics dashboards and metrics (OTD, backlog, freight cost, inventory accuracy, MRB aging, cycle‑count performance).
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Supplier Quality, and Procurement to support production schedules, customer commitments, and risk mitigation.
  • Participate in MRB (Material Review Board) activities, ensuring proper segregation, disposition execution, ERP transactions, and Return‑to‑Vendor (RTV) coordination.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by maintaining compliant logistics procedures, training records, and objective evidence.
  • Maintain and improve logistics‑related SOPs, work instructions, and training aligned to AS9100 and customer contractual requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in inventory and logistics roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Oracle) and inventory management best practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and ITAR regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills, lean mindset, and proven ability to drive change and process improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing logistics across multiple facilities or geographical locations.
  • Lean Six Sigma or APICS (CPIM/CSCP) certification.
  • Strong background in continuous improvement and change management.
  • Experience working with aerospace defense contractors or military customers.
