Under direction of an assigned administrator, oversee the TRiO - Student Support Services grant. Oversee the primary functions of the TRiO program including personnel, career guidance for program participants, test preparation, student issues/problems, student leadership, tutoring, and study skills. Assist program participants from low-income, first-generation, or disabled students succeed in college by connecting them with appropriate services to develop their academic goals and select academic schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, innovation, and continuous improvement; lead by example; participate in advisory groups and other collaborative processes; encourage professional excellence among staff; promote a customer service oriented culture.
  • Oversee TRiO program operations including tutoring services, study skills development, workshops, and coordination with the Tutoring Center to recruit, appoint, and train tutors; maintain tutor files and records.
  • Manage program documentation and data: advisee files, academic reports, counseling notes, and TRiO-related databases; ensure accuracy and timely updating; validate information against the student database.
  • Develop, promote, and organize workshops and academic skills sessions; collaborate with academic personnel to develop appropriate student schedules; guide decision-making and accountability in student choices.
  • Coordinate scholarship program activities and assist with scholarship searches and submissions; ensure current scholarship information is available.
  • Prepare promotional materials and deliver presentations to prospective students, campus personnel, and external audiences; create reports and promotional materials as needed.
  • Monitor TRiO enrollment data, prepare narratives and analytical reports, and develop proposals or plans for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Fiscal Services to track program budget expenses and purchasing; maintain accurate purchasing records.
  • Promote TRiO services to students and potential students; conduct interviews and coordinate assessments as needed; provide matriculation guidance.
  • Maintain the security of confidential materials and ensure participant files are complete and compliant with grant requirements.
  • Manage TRiO tutoring services including online tutoring and the test-prep program.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education:

    Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience:

    One (1) year of formal training, internship, or work experience reasonably related to the administrator assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Desirable

    Experience:

    Professional or personal experience overcoming barriers similar to those confronting TRiO participants. Five (5) years in designing, managing, and implementing a student support service or similar program. Three (3) years supervising staff, managing budgets, developing/evaluating programs, and submitting reports in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Knowledge/Areas of Expertise:
    • Federal grant program knowledge and experience with TRiO or similar programs.
    • Sensitivity to challenges faced by low-income, first-generation, and disabled students.
    • Strong supervision, training, motivation, and performance evaluation capabilities.
    • Extensive knowledge of student development and program coordination.
    • Experience interpreting rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; liaison experience between high schools, colleges, or universities.
