Systems Engineer – Moog Military Aircraft
Job Title:
Systems Engineer
Location:
Torrance, CA
Work Schedule:
9/80 hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days per week on site)
- Develop system architecture, performance prediction, and system analysis
- Manage requirements, integration, verification, and validation planning
- Contribute as a key technical member in developing, integrating, and verifying complex hydraulic and electromechanical control systems
- Coordinate design product discussions across development teams and Moog sites
- Create and communicate design requirements
- Support definition of verification and validation approaches, develop verification plans and cross‑reference matrices (VCRMs)
- Develop test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts to verify requirements and qualify systems
- Document test results, requirement verification, limitations, and constraints
- Support system‑level and subsystem‑level integration and test, including anomaly investigations
- Travel 5–10% to other Moog sites and customer sites (primarily U.S.)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science discipline
- 5+ years of professional work experience in engineering
- Experience with requirements management, integration, test, modeling and simulation methods, control system design, and verification
- Experience in aerospace industry (preferred)
- Familiarity with fault‑management design and architecture development
- Strengths in controls system design
- Knowledge of aircraft flight control systems (plus)
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, and dSpace hardware for system performance and real‑time modeling
- Experience with safety‑critical systems (hardware and software)
- Proficiency with Python coding
Salary range: $85,000–$135,000 annually (Torrance, CA)
