Job Overview

Moog Military Aircraft is seeking a Test Equipment Sustainment Engineer to work onsite in Torrance, CA on a 9/80 schedule. The Engineer reports to the Test Equipment Manager and supports the operation of deployed test equipment across the product life cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and complete activities in support of Test Equipment Sustainment.
  • Work closely with Assembly and Test Operations customers and sustainment teams in all aspects of test systems.
  • Use the Test Equipment Maintenance Management System (Pirana AVMS) to log, track and document work requests, preventive maintenance and sustainment activities.
  • Maintain configuration of test equipment, including generation, update and formal release of documentation during sustainment.
  • Provide technical review of test equipment and test software drawings and documentation per Moog processes.
  • Support procurement of sub‑assemblies, services, spares and consumables.
  • Lead obsolescence activities, identifying replacement opportunities and coordinating with Design and Project/NPI functions.
  • Coordinate timely resolution of corrective actions, significant issues or non‑conformances.
  • Support root‑cause investigations into all aspects of test equipment systems or components.
  • Ensure health and safety practices are followed, write and review risk assessments.
  • Lead and support internal and external quality audits of deployed test equipment.
  • Participate in lean activities to improve operations.
  • Support documentation of lockout/tagout procedures and perform LOTO as authorized.
  • Uphold Moog culture and values within the function.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Project Management, Aeronautical, Physics or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace, automotive, test equipment or related engineering sector.
  • Proficiency in maintenance and support of multi‑axis, closed‑loop, servo‑hydraulic and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with JIRA, Pirana, NX or LabVIEW is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Must be able to obtain required security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interdisciplinary engineering experience (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, systems).
  • Experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing.
  • Proactive problem‑solving and mature judgment.
  • Experience working in foreign (non‑US) locations and understanding local norms.
  • Ability to navigate matrixed organizations with conflicting demands.
  • Experience representing a company positively to customers under difficult situations.
Benefits and Compensation

Salary Range: $100,000–$130,000 annually (Torrance, CA).
