Divergent is seeking an experienced CAE engineer to support the next generation of industry‑leading vehicle development. We are committed to transforming vehicle structural systems using new materials and technologies and need a forward‑looking engineer to shape the future of industrial manufacturing.
Role- Build and analyze FE models of node‑based vehicle structures for aerospace flight applications or automotive use cases, including validation using hand calculations and optimization.
- Apply cutting‑edge FE/CAE methodology including nonlinear geometry, nonlinear material, implicit and explicit techniques to address multi‑physics problems.
- Present technical analysis summaries and reports to meetings and other relevant engineers.
- Create, refine, and execute new technical solutions for aerospace structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts.
- Collaborate within the DAPS Product Engineering team and cross‑functionally to efficiently design and release structures optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly.
- Implement cost reduction, methods, and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to U.S. export controls.
- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- 0–2 years of experience in aerospace or automotive structural analysis or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of experience with analysis software packages such as Nastran, Opti Struct, ABAQUS, and/or LS‑Dyna.
- New graduates of Fall 2025/Spring 2026 with a strong foundation in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering will also be considered.
- Outstanding comprehension of solid mechanics.
- Solid understanding of linear and nonlinear behaviors of advanced materials (composites, adhesives, metals) to achieve lightweight structural solutions.
- Solid interpersonal skills and a self‑starter who can manage workload and execution to tight schedule.
- 1–2 years of industry experience in non‑linear, dynamic stiffness, and durability analyses of structural components.
- Material characterization and component/system‑level CAE – physical test correlation experience.
- Proficiency with Altair Hyper Mesh or Beta CAE ANSA preprocessors.
- Experience with fast‑phase start‑up experiences.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
At Divergent, pay is based on the job level. For this role, candidates will be considered at PNG E03 or PNG E04 levels.
- PNG E03: $100,980 – $138,820
- PNG E04: $116,600 – $160,325
Pay Range: $100,880 – $247,005 USD
