Schedule: 9/80 workweek, first shift, 8:00 AM start
Day in the LifeYou begin your morning calibrating instrumentation and reviewing the day’s test matrix with design and project teams. By mid-morning, you are executing performance and stress tests on aerospace hardware, capturing data from oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. After lunch, you analyze anomalies, collaborate with engineers to isolate root causes, and document findings. You close the day updating automated scripts to expand coverage and preparing concise reports for stakeholders.
WhatYou Will Do
- Translate system requirements into clear test strategies, objectives, and success criteria for defense and aerospace systems.
- Develop and execute functional, integration, performance, and environmental tests; set up test benches, fixtures, and instrumentation for accurate data capture.
- Investigate defects and failures; partner with design and development teams to troubleshoot and drive resolution.
- Produce detailed procedures and reports, organizing all plans, results, and evidence for customer and regulatory use.
- Advance automation by creating and maintaining scripts and frameworks to increase repeatability and throughput.
- Continuously refine methods, tools, and processes; stay current with test standards and best practices in aerospace and defense.
- Protect safety and compliance by aligning to applicable standards and coordinating with customers and regulatory stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; master’s degree a plus.
- Hands‑on experience with test development and execution, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and environmental chambers.
- Working knowledge of industry standards such as MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, and AS9100.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++; exposure to test automation frameworks preferred.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Comfort operating in a fast‑paced setting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Background in defense or aerospace environments highly desirable.
