Supplier Lead

Procurement & Supplier Performance Manager

Hybrid – Torrance, CA (9/80 schedule available)

Moog Military Aircraft provides flight control equipment and systems to leading military platforms. Headquartered in East Aurora, NY, Moog employs about 14,000 employees worldwide.

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in engineering, supply chain, or business)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or engineering (preferably aerospace)
• Good communication and organizational skills; ability to understand complex regulations and procedures
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Collaboration and influence across multiple functions, cultures, and geographic regions; flexibility with working hours across time zones

• Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Program Management, or related fields;
  Master’s degree in business or engineering preferred
• Engineering or technical background with Project/Program Management experience
• Strong negotiating skills and knowledge of procurement and contractual law

• Develop and manage effective supplier relationships to meet business requirements
• Surveillance and monitoring of assigned suppliers
• Evaluate supplier performance, identify and mitigate risk
• Manage purchase orders and verify delivery information using standard systems
• Ensure timely closure of root cause and corrective actions
• Expedite supplier deliveries as needed to meet site operational requirements
• Lead problem‑solving activities to resolve supplier relationship issues and supply chain performance challenges
• Support or lead supplier performance recovery and improvement initiatives
• Assist in supplier selection, development, and new product introduction (NPI)
• Provide input to supply‑chain planning based on supplier knowledge
• Identify and pursue quality, cost, delivery, and lead‑time improvements
• Use strong analytical and problem‑solving skills for complex supply‑chain requirements
• Demonstrate working knowledge of contractual requirements and business systems
• Communicate effectively internally and externally with customers and suppliers
• Travel (10%) to visit suppliers in the designated region; occasional travel to other Moog sites may be required
