As a Lead System Engineer, here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a critical program. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and improving project delivery. Your ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and define project scope, objectives, and deliverables will contribute to the overall success of the program.
Your role will also involve monitoring project progress and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, which will help in maintaining efficient project management practices. You will report directly to your manager, and you'll work out of Torrance on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of the program. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, coordinating project activities, and ensuring the timely and successful completion of deliverables.
Your expertise in project management and your ability to drive results will be crucial in meeting the program's goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage complex engineering projects from initiation to completion
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Lead RFI/RFP responses including ownership of financial estimates, SOW and spec compliance matrices, and technical volume
- Coordinate and communicate with cross‑functional teams to ensure project success
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery
- Provide technical guidance and support to project team members
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in the aerospace industry
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership and project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment
- Experience in risk management and problem‑solving
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
- Technical expertise in the relevant engineering discipline
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

- Master’s degree in engineering or related field
