Senior Planner

This is a direct placement position. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for production planning and control of models and parts, as well as special planning requirements such as raw materials, start up production programs, or interfacing with prototype programs, and also training Program Analysts.

Here's what you can expect day-to-day:

  • Planning, coordinating, scheduling, and suggesting changes to program plans.
  • Providing delivery information for Master Scheduling, Engineering, Program Management and Contracts based on lead time computations, parts availability and capacity/schedule constraints.
  • Working with Engineering to identify change effectively and communicates the impact on schedules.
  • Monitoring flow of parts and initiating kit pulls to Assembly and Test and spare parts releases.
  • Preparing new program or prototype project schedules as necessary.
  • Coordinating with Manufacturing Supervision to provide a workable schedule and assists in correcting work center load imbalances.
  • Responsible for monitoring total scope and progress of program plan.
  • Influencing and persuading all levels of employees in order to implement a successful program plan.
  • With the aid of MBS MRP establishing and maintaining systems and procedures relating to obtaining and controlling of engineering parts.
  • Analyzing part requirements, orders, schedules, reschedules and expediting assigned items as necessary based on review of manually generated reports or MRP/data processing outputs.
  • Inputting/updating part planning information for assigned parts.
  • Informing appropriate personnel of items not on schedule and potential impact of delay.
  • Providing all pertinent data to accounting for terminations/cancellations and obsolescence analysis.
  • Providing inputs required for the proper loading of Bills of Material for new programs.
  • Working with Assembly and Test Management to develop a "Kit" delivery schedule which will balance the Assembly and Test work load and insure on time delivery to customers daily delivery schedules.
  • Preparing and updating reports and action plans for responsible programs and presenting to Manufacturing Management, Program Management, Purchasing, Contracts, Quality, and Engineering. On occasion will prepare the same type of information and present to customers.
  • Participating in periodic physical inventories.
  • Training new employees and assisting in overall training/education needs.

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills. You will be a key part of our production team, ensuring that materials and production communicate effectively in order to facilitate on-time delivery.
  • Strong new product development skills are highly desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to data mine.
  • Must be able to do thorough analysis and make professional presentations to upper management.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demand Driven MRP and SAP systems is a plus.
