Summary
The Accounting & Financial Analysis Manager is responsible for managing, maintaining, and analyzing complex accounting and financial information to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. This role combines hands-on ownership of core accounting processes with advanced financial analysis, requiring strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate financial results into meaningful business insights. This position partners closely with FP&A, operations, and leadership to explain results, identify issues, and drive solutions, while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls in a regulated healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Owns and executes complex areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, accruals, estimates, and reconciliations.
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Reviews general ledger activity to identify unusual trends, variances, or risks and resolves issues proactively.
- Maintains and enhances internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Performs detailed variance and trend analysis across income statement and balance sheet accounts.
- Explains financial results and key drivers to management and non-finance stakeholders.
- Partners with FP&A to align actual results with budgets and forecasts.
- Serves as a financial and accounting resource for leadership, responding to ad hoc requests as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth financial analysis and clearly explain results.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
