We are led by a highly accomplished management team and provide a full suite of management services to its affiliated practices. UHP is currently affiliated with 154 providers consisting of 110 physicians and 44 advanced practice providers operating out of 50 locations across Southern, Central, and Northern California.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing, maintaining, and analyzing accounting management information including general ledger activity through financial statements. Communication with staff in all departments is paramount in this position, ensuring that the accounting needs of all departments are met effectively and efficiently.

• Prepares accurate monthly financial statements, comparative reports, and cost reports.
• Analyzes, reviews, and adjusts income and expense information as to adequacy, form, and source.
• Maintains general ledger, including preparing financial schedules and writing journal entries.
• Maintains cash schedules, inspects account status, and transfers cash as necessary to cover disbursements.
• Maintains amortization schedules for lease agreements, mortgages, and bank notes.
• Assists independent auditors with interim and year-end audits and verifies accuracy of reports.
• Assists in the supervision of payroll activities and resolution of payroll problems.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and interpret financial material.
• Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting and auditing reports.
• Ability to perform mathematical computations and compute ratios and percentages.
