USA is seeking an experienced Cisco Network Engineer (CCNP) to join our client’s enterprise network team. This role will focus on advanced network engineering, troubleshooting, and optimization, with heavy reliance on Fortinet Forti Gate firewalls for east-west network segmentation.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (Catalyst, Nexus, ASA) and manage Forti Gate firewalls.
- Focus on Cisco ACI, Nexus, and Catalyst fabrics with Spine and Leaf topologies.
- Perform Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking tasks including VLANs, OSPF, BGP, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Troubleshoot complex network and wireless issues; monitor performance using Solar Winds, Wireshark, Cisco Prime, and related tools.
- Collaborate with teams, vendors, and end users to maintain reliable network operations.
- Assist with wireless network optimization, including low-latency, high-speed roaming configurations.
- Document configurations and changes using Visio, Excalidraw, or Lucidchart.
- Perform physical network tasks as needed, including cabling, racking, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Education:
Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field required;
Bachelor’s preferred. - Certifications:
Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required; CCDP and CompTIA Network+ are a plus. - Experience:
5+ years in network engineering/admin; 3+ years in Level 2 or equivalent enterprise support role. - Hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware and Forti Gate firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of ACI, TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VPNs, QoS, and Layer 2/3 networking.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for network and wireless issues.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional, solution-oriented attitude with strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Physical capability to install cabling, rack equipment, and troubleshoot hardware; able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
Onsite:
Must work onsite in Bayonne, NJ with occasional hybrid/remote options by management approval.
Timeline:
Target hire within 48 weeks.

- Compensation: Starting at $125,000 per year, with the potential for a higher offer based on experience, certifications, and technical expertise.
