About the RoleWe are looking for a hands‑on Network & Systems Administrator to join a lean IT team supporting a fast‑paced, distributed environment spanning dozens of locations nationwide. This is not a pure security role, and it is not a pure networking role — it is an infrastructure generalist with deep identity and access management ownership and a security‑first mindset.
The ideal candidate evaluates every infrastructure decision through the lens of security impact. If that is how you naturally think, this role is built for you.
- Over 500 users across the organization
- Several thousand managed endpoints
- Dozens of physical locations nationwide
- Hybrid cloud infrastructure (on‑premises + Azure)
- Lean, collaborative IT team
- 30% — AD / Cyber / Security & IAM
- 20% — Networking Support
- Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure including IaaS, hybrid identity, and cloud services
- Drive Azure cost optimization, resource governance, and performance tuning
- Maintain infrastructure health across a distributed, multi‑site environment
- Active Directory administration (critical requirement)
- Group Policy design, management, and enforcement
- Lead Identity and Access Management (IAM) maturity initiatives
- Manage Azure AD / Entra hybrid identity configurations
- Identity lifecycle management: provisioning, de‑provisioning, and role‑based access
- Endpoint security deployment and monitoring (AV / EDR)
- Evaluate all infrastructure changes for security posture impact
- Understand and work within existing firewall policies
- Configure network ports and support switching as needed
- Handle physical infrastructure support and on‑site troubleshooting across facilities
- Support remote sites as needed
- Experience supporting multi‑site organizations with 20+ locations strongly preferred
- Strong Active Directory and IAM background — required
- Hands‑on experience rolling out SSO across multiple enterprise applications
- Azure administration experience with a focus on optimization and hybrid identity
- Familiarity with endpoint security platforms (EDR, AV, device management)
- Ability to own projects independently within a lean IT team
- Background in environments with 500+ users, thousands of endpoints, and hybrid cloud infrastructure
- 2–3 trips per year to support remote locations
- Not a dedicated security engineer position
- Not a pure network / firewall architect role
- Not a helpdesk or tier‑1 support position
- SSO successfully rolled out across core enterprise applications
- Identity and access processes tightened, documented, and enforced
- Clear visibility into endpoint security posture
- Azure infrastructure optimized for performance and cost
- Reduced access sprawl and stronger policy enforcement across the environment
