Magnetic Component Engineering ("MCE"), a subsidiary of Dexter Magnetic Technologies ("Dexter"), manufactures permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies made to demanding customer specification in the aerospace / defense, semiconductor equipment, medical, and industrial end markets. MCE is based in Torrance, CA and operates one 48,000 square foot facility with 85 employees.
Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position:The IT Technician keeps the technology of the Company in good working order and accessible to employees. They also work closely with their team, ensuring each situation is thoroughly resolved and all components are in working order.
Major Responsibilities:reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
- Setup, install and maintain computing hardware
- Install network hardware
- Deploy and support software
- Manage requests using helpdesk ticketing system
- Ability to support multiple sites remotely
- Repair and troubleshoot computer systems, mobile, and networking hardware in the IT repair lab
- Configure and maintain logs of machine issues, errors, and repairs by scanning the barcode on every machine evaluated and serviced
- Maintain an inventory of hardware and software used
- Conduct hardware and software maintenance
Other duties or projects as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT-related field such as computer science, technical support, and information technology.
- AA CompTIA A+ certification for computer technology preferred (exclusions may apply, particularly for web-development computer technicians)
- 5+ years of experience in computer networks solutions, operating systems, or other IT-related positions
- Proficiency in programs such as Active Directory, Entra, Microsoft Power Shell, and Microsoft O365
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Ability to work on projects/tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Time management and organizational skills
Targeted Salary Range: $78,000-$88,000 + bonus
