The MTO (Made-To-Order) Program Manager is responsible for coordinating the execution of retailer and customer-specific apparel programs across internal departments. This role serves as the central point of communication between Sales, Product Development, Sourcing, Production, and Logistics to ensure MTO programs are executed accurately and delivered on schedule. The position focuses on program coordination, timeline management, and cross‑functional alignment to support the successful delivery of custom apparel programs.
PRIMARYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Made-to-Order (MTO) programs from order confirmation through final delivery.
- Manage program timelines and monitor key milestones to ensure on‑time execution.
- Coordinate cross‑functional activities between Sales, Product Development, Sourcing, Operations, and Logistics.
- Communicate product specifications, order requirements, and program updates to internal stakeholders.
- Track MTO orders and identify potential risks, delays, or issues affecting production or delivery.
- Partner with Sales to support customer‑specific MTO programs and execution requirements.
- Provide regular updates on program status, delivery timelines, and operational challenges.
- Maintain accurate program documentation, tracking tools, and status reports.
- Resolve program issues by coordinating with internal teams to maintain project timelines.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance MTO program execution and cross‑functional communication.
- Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
- Education:
Bachelors Degree in Apparel, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Minimum of 5‑7 years experience in apparel operations, product development, production coordination, program management, or a related field.
- Intermediate knowledge of apparel product development and production lifecycle.
- Intermediate to advanced project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to analyze information, identify risks, and coordinate solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple programs simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Merchandising, Fashion Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience managing Made-to-Order (MTO), private label, or retailer‑specific apparel programs.
- Experience using ERP, PLM, or other apparel product lifecycle and order management systems.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other project management certification preferred.
- Actively supports and complies with Company’s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
- Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
- Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
- Must be able to operate in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally require to execute non‑standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
