The Air Logistics Operational Care Specialist is responsible for coordinating air export shipments accurately and on time while meeting customer transit requirements. This role is part of the Operational Care Center and supports shipment execution through bookings, documentation, system updates, shipment monitoring, and deviation follow-up.
In this role, you will review shipment details, confirm cargo check-in, prepare and process documentation, request bookings through gateway teams, link shipments to flights, coordinate pickups, and support export customs-related processes through AEXUS. You will work closely with Customer Care teams, gateways, warehouses, customs teams, carriers, vendors, and other internal partners to ensure shipments move smoothly and in compliance with regulatory, industry, and Kuehne+Nagel standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate operational activities for air export shipments accurately and on time
- Review shipment documentation and identify missing or conflicting information
- Communicate with Customer Care teams and other stakeholders to resolve missing details
- Request bookings and coordinate with gateway teams
- Link shipment information to flights and update systems accurately
- Process AEXUS/export customs information
- Prepare, review, and process shipment documentation, including house documentation
- Coordinate pickups and support billing for pickups
- Ensure commercial invoices match SLIs
- Review DG information and ensure details are properly entered into the system
- Monitor shipments, follow up on deviations, and escalate issues as needed
- Collaborate with gateways, warehouses, customs teams, carriers, suppliers, and internal partners
- Support process improvement, system utilization, and cost optimization
The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of air export experience, freight forwarding or logistics experience, and familiarity with AEXUS. Experience with licensing, CGs, shipment documentation, pickups, flight requests, and dangerous goods is helpful.
This role requires strong airfreight knowledge, attention to detail, organization, communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable asking questions, working with others, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced operational setting. Candidates should also have flexibility for possible weekend coverage as needed.
