We’re recruiting a senior Business Development leader for a fast-growing space communications company delivering flight-qualified radio communications systems for satellites and space vehicles. Their products are commercially available, shipping today, and already operating in orbit - with multiple launches planned across 2026.
The company supports some of the most ambitious space programs in the market, partnering with satellite bus manufacturers, major aerospace primes, spacecraft integrators, and mission partners who demand technical credibility, reliability, and long-term program alignment. As growth accelerates, they’re building dedicated leadership focused on strategic accounts and prime relationships.
As Director / Senior Director of Business Development – Primes & Partners, you’ll own revenue growth across the major defense & aerospace primes. This is a senior individual-contributor role with clear progression toward building and leading a strategic accounts team. You’ll drive capture strategy, position the company on long-term programs, and establish deep executive-level relationships across the prime contractor ecosystem.
What You’ll Be Doing- Own and grow revenue across major aerospace primes
- Lead capture strategy for long-cycle, high-value space programs
- Navigate complex procurement environments and multi-year contracting structures
- Expand existing prime relationships into larger programmatic wins and volume agreements
- Identify and secure strategic partner positions on future missions and platform builds
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, program management, and executive leadership
- Lay the groundwork for a future strategic accounts team as revenue scales
- Proven experience partnering with the major aerospace primes
- Strong understanding of government-funded and prime-led space programs
- Experience managing long sales cycles and complex capture processes
- Track record of winning position on multi-year or multi-mission programs
- Background selling hardware, software, or integrated systems into space platforms
- Ability to operate credibly at executive and program leadership levels
- RF, radio, or communications background
- Based in Southern California
Target OTE: ~$300–400k (flexible based on seniority and experience)
