We’re looking for an Automotive Detailer to bring their passion and attention to detail to our team in Torrance, CA

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Meticulously clean and polish cars using a variety of cleaning products, tools, and techniques for both the interior and exterior of vehicles in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
  • Work closely with the production and quality leadership to ensure vehicles are ready for delivery, prior to client arrival

What You’ll Do:

  • Effectively and efficiently maintain vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning, correcting, and restoring interior (upholstery, compartments, windows, conditions vinyl and leather, etc.) and exterior (paint, finish, nickel plating trim, windows, wheels, tires, headlights, break lights, taillights, etc.) components of vehicles
  • Inspect vehicles for stains, debris, and damage before returning the vehicle to the client
  • Consistently ensure quality control in customer care and vehicle management procedures
  • Polish nickel-plating components (mirror housing, Targa hoop, dashboard, bumperette, wheel rims, trims, and molding, etc. inside the vehicle)
  • Work with Lead and Production Supervisor to ensure production demands meets the specified production schedule
  • Work daily tasks lists set out by Lead/Production Supervisor
  • Report daily vehicle build status to Lead/Production Supervisor
  • Perform operational procedure according to required engineering specifications
  • Ensure workflow is tracked and on time through daily meetings
  • Clean and polish nickel plated and brass parts
  • Manages exchanging of parts with Material Management department
  • Perform basic car cleaning functions, e.g., remove dirt and debris from painted surfaces on interior/exterior of the car, wheels/wheel wells, windows, and engine bay before starting every job
  • Prep vehicle for vinyl installation
  • Work in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Who We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of experience with polishing nickel, brass, or other painted parts
  • Minimum four (4) years of detailing experience
  • Bonus points for prior experience in a rapid growth environment and experience with luxury vehicles
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills; ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
  • Ability to polish to high gloss, remove swirl marks, light scratches, blemishes, and water spots
  • Ability to use a machine polisher (rotary or dual action)
  • Ability to use different polishing pads (foam, microfiber, wool)
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment
  • Perfectionist mindset, very high attention to detail, and a passion for cars

Location &

Schedule:

This position is based in Torrance, CA and the schedule is Monday – Friday 5am – 1:30pm with overtime. We are adding a second shift later this year, so you may be moved to the afternoon shift based on business needs.
