The Production Machine Trainee is responsible for performing basic set‑ups and operating production machines to achieve all company targets and standards. The trainee must be able to run at least three production machines such as Broach, Fillet Roll, Shave A, Traub, and Groove. The position requires maintaining the expected level of competency for production machines in accordance with skill assessments.

• Performs basic set‑ups and operates up to three automatic machines to produce parts according to blueprints, routing package, specifications and/or special instructions.
• Recognizes and detects machine out‑of‑tolerance and adjusts controls or control media as required.
• Performs basic trial runs to check accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Checks parts for conformance to specifications using gauges, SPC and shop floor system.
• Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning and in‑process inspections; reports major discrepancies to lead or supervisor.
• Determines and performs proper feed and speed combinations.
• Provides necessary information to Manufacturing team, Engineering team or others to document procedures and drawings.
• Performs work operations under supervision.
• Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running.
• Lays out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.
• Examines products to verify conformance to quality standards, following blueprints or work instructions.
• Participates and maintains LEAP and APU/GAP standards.
• Participates and engages in the PSM1 meetings, reporting any ongoing and long‑term problems encountered.
• Uses actions regarding projects and workshops.
• Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows all safety regulations.
• Complies with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE procedures.
• Attends all training provided and adheres to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures.
• Brings any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
• Continually seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting results.
• Supports waste elimination initiatives related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to minimize production waste.
• Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned.
