Overview

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company bringing the benefits of space to the masses through advanced communications technology. We are building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions such as national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. With a vertically integrated approach, Northwood designs, builds, and rapidly deploys scalable systems that power the next generation of space missions.

If you like solving complex challenges and seeing your work deployed around the world with real impact, Northwood is the place to do it.

Role

We are seeking a Production Coordinator to own the day-to-day production schedule for Northwood’s antenna systems and help ensure hardware is built on time, at quality, and s role sits at the intersection of manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, and engineering, and will be responsible for translating demand, material availability, labor capacity, and production constraints into an executable build plan.

You will help determine when work should start, what is blocking execution, how the production queue should be prioritized, and what needs to happen cross-functionally to keep hardware moving. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working close to the shop floor, solving schedule and material problems in real time, and creating the planning discipline needed to support high‑mix, fast‑moving hardware production.

Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the production schedule and work queue for antenna system builds and subassemblies, balancing priorities, material readiness, labor capacity, engineering readiness, and delivery commitments.
  • Assess production readiness by evaluating material availability, purchase orders, work orders, required documentation, and shop capacity to determine when work should be released.
  • Partner closely with purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to identify, communicate, and resolve production blockers.
  • Track production progress against plan, providing clear updates on schedule risks, shortages, priority changes, and work order status through regular production meetings and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and material planning to ensure long‑lead, critical, and constrained components are aligned with production schedules and business priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning and production processes, including work order release, readiness reviews, queue management, shortage tracking, schedule reporting, and throughput optimization.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2–3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, and manufacturing coordination within hardware manufacturing environments, with a strong understanding of production control processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage production schedules, work orders, and cross‑functional execution while ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, and production readiness.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and the interdependencies between purchasing, inventory management, production capacity, quality, and engineering to meet production objectives.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with experience using ERP, MRP, MES, inventory, and scheduling systems to track status, resolve production blockers, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, space, RF systems, electronics manufacturing, or other complex hardware production environments.
  • Experience using Manufacturo in a production environment.
  • Experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume or rapidly scaling manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or aerospace quality requirements.
Additional Requirements
  • This position requires successfully obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
