Performance Leader

Job Overview

Moog Military Aircraft Group, a leader in flight control equipment and systems, is seeking a Performance Leader to oversee the Assembly and Test area in Torrance, CA. The role reports to the Process Manager and follows a 9/80 onsite work schedule.

• Identify, implement, and measure short‑ and long‑term team objectives that align with the company’s strategic plan.
• Motivate team members and coordinate support groups to accomplish area objectives.
• Execute standard work and established processes to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of personnel and equipment, meeting manufacturing schedules and delivery commitments.
• Hire external talent and evaluate team personnel for performance management and talent growth.
• Manage employee relations issues before they become major challenges, including counseling, discipline, and performance feedback.
• Create team goals and maintain a competent, effective work group through technical assistance, instruction, training, development, and motivation.
• Ensure safe working conditions, good housekeeping, and the prevention of job injuries to reduce lost time.
• Maintain accurate employee time reporting.
• Administer employee policies fairly and consistently to promote good organization and employee relations.
• Optimize equipment utilization by comparing workload against department capacity and making load‑matching decisions.
• Support Lean Operations by executing Tier I meetings, participating as a Tier II meeting member, adhering to functional process metrics and targets.
• Provide support for access to U.S. export‑controlled information.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience and six years of directly related experience in a production environment, including prior supervision or team lead experience.
• Knowledge of functional manufacturing responsibilities and interaction with supporting departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Tooling Services, and Material.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, strong organization, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to define and prioritize goals and objectives such as inventory reduction and lead‑time shortening.
• Ability to build and maintain teamwork across departments, suppliers, and customers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Leadership experience.
• Preferred: data‑driven mindset.
• Preferred: experience in manufacturing and the aerospace industry.

Salary Range: $90,000.00–$ per year.
